Sons and Daughters of civilization

Sons and daughters of civilization           Olagunju Olayemi

The civilization and the civilized ones,
Stagnancy is unfold, reluctance was told.
Fox of the colonist, roars of the protectorates,
Imperialism was their verse and songs
The negro treasure, the whites treason.
Ceremonial post once an honorary rank.
Nationalist vex with limited speech
Changes to come will offer vomit confession

Old version schooled with new fashion
Fear of domination, who knows if in their heart
Tolerance traits wasn't  given clearance,
Cultural innovation, innovated and scandalized.
Tears of the sun, who is behind the scene.
Roars of the drum has race many out their skin,
And many run into unforgotten scars of solo(ful)piano.

The rain doesn't evade the path of the runnel,
The salt will never fail to sweet the taste of the soup,
When fire burns, water is called upon.
For the land yield to the call of the wise farmer.
Let those who hate this land be swallowed,
Let those who love this land live long like enigma

The day Elulu calls for rain he get himself thoroughly drenched
Let those who call this land with evil names,
Answer their own call.

For food alone can quench hunger
For joy alone can quench sadness.
The word we have spoken
Let it be stamped
Our land our country our people ,
Let them be blessed and fruitful.

Just want you to know that I'm waiting to know you. I promised to raise my hand amidst the cloud, I promised to blink my eyes out of every shadow of fears, Once I noticed it was you, I have seen the light,  Don't be surprised if I mentioned your name and I know the line on your face So, I may call you by your tribe. I surely know the color of your eyes. But till then, Stay wherever you are and be with me, keep yourself just the same way am keeping myself for you. For I'm still waiting, Waiting for the queen that will sit beside me forever, till death do us...  Waiting for the bone..... and flesh of my flesh Waiting to see we two as one My dear I have kept myself safe in His arm, Cus I know the Earth is not safe for the heart, Though, some years back I was a captive of a large audience, but n
