........to my Ajoke, to your ajoke
It was at alé I first saw you
Your smile that day ajoke Robbed me of my timidity
And I forgot of my reticence
When I first saw you at the riverside on that night,
I saw how the wind that blow made your face
I thought you were yeye first daughter.....
In the beginning:
God said let there be and there was you,
And God bestowed on you all earthly goodies.
I try to prove my stand on your logic,
My speech was flowing like the chants of raw magic.
Waters formula is h20,
Knowing all your formula is giving aches to my whole.
Àjoké mi labalábá mi òdòdó arewa (my beautiful butterfly)
Apónbéberé mi omo Àsàké
Whose beauty spread across the love garden,
And make many men gleam,
Your beauty haunt like two eagles,
The drama on your cheeks kept me wondering,
And it reminds me of Romeo and Juliet.
Your name is mild like cinnamon,
It is the fragrance in which the lemon Grove sleeps.
When I never know you Àjoké
I never know that life give much happiness to sadness like eni-obánké
But now;
In your presence I will write with exultation,
In your presence I rediscover my name,
My name that was hidden under the pains of separation.
In your presence I've forgotten all pains of Àsàké
In your presence, my eyes never veiled of loneliness,
And your laughter like a flame piercing the shadow has revealed life to me beyond yesterday sun.
My fidus achates, one like a million arewà.
