THE STUBBORN MAN AND THE HELPFUL SPIRIT

THE STUBBORN MAN AND THE HELPFUL SPIRIT

long time ago spirits lived along side men on the same lands, to avoid clashes among men and spirit, certain days were set aside for the ethereal beings to go about the land with their activities. During these days, men were forbidden to go out of their houses to their farms or work

But there was a man in  the land called Kiigbo Kiigba who had issues with the idea, it didn't matter if the days for the spirits were scanty all year round. He felt no one had the right to tell him when to stay home

When the first day came for men to stay home, Kiigbo Kiigba picked up his hoe and went to his farm. As he began tilling the land he heard unearthly voices 'who are you and what are you doing?
I am Kiigbo Kiigba, i am tilling my land, he responded.
Alright, we will help you' the voices responded
Suddenly a hundred hoes appeared from no where and began tilling the land. In a jiffy, the entire farm was tilled and Kiigbo went back home

On the second day that people were asked to stay home, Kiigbo picked up his cutlass and headed towards his farm. It was time to plant his yams, he thought.
He had barely begun planting when the ethereal voices called out 'who are you and what are you doing?
I am Kiigbo Kiigba and i am planting my yams, he answered
Alright, we will help you' the voices responded
In a jiffy, all the yam seedlings were planted and Kiigbo went back home

The third day came and humans were asked to stay home but Kiigbo thought it was time to harvest his yams. As Kiigbo began to dig up the first yam, he heard the voices he was now familiar with
'who are you and what are you doing? I am Kiigbo Kiigba and i am harvesting my yams
Alright, we will help you' the voices responded
Before Kiigbo finished harvesting the yam he was working on, all the yams had been harvested and gathered into a big heap. As Kiigbo was done harvesting a single yam, he realized the yam wasn't ripe for harvest, none of the yams were ripe for harvest. Normally he would have stopped at a single yam but now it was too late. His entire crop had been ruined by these helpful spirits

Kiigbo began to lament 'woe is me' he cried out as he hit his head with both hands in sorrow but he heard the ethereal voices once more 'who are you and what are you doing?
I am Kiigbo Kiigba and i am hitting my head in sorrow, he cried out
Alright, we will help you
A hundred hands appeared and began to hit Kiigbo's head. IT WAS THE END OF HIS THINKING DAYS

Letter to my future wife

To my future wife I found myself thinking about you today. Wondering where you are, what you’re thinking and doing at the moment. Are you Adumadan or Aponbepore? Or the mixture of both? Just want you to know that I'm waiting to know you. I promised to raise my hand amidst the cloud, I promised to blink my eyes out of every shadow of fears, Once I noticed it was you, I have seen the light,  Don't be surprised if I mentioned your name and I know the line on your face So, I may call you by your tribe. I surely know the color of your eyes. But till then, Stay wherever you are and be with me, keep yourself just the same way am keeping myself for you. For I'm still waiting, Waiting for the queen that will sit beside me forever, till death do us...  Waiting for the bone..... and flesh of my flesh Waiting to see we two as one My dear I have kept myself safe in His arm, Cus I know the Earth is not safe for the heart, Though, some years back I was a captive of a large audience, but n
